I did not have that camera led to visible flash and I have read many of the debates online or visible flash Spooks & deer I've spoken with many friends who have made use of flash cameras. Many of them feel that visible flash spook deer. I selected Moultrie Game Spy I 40 Infrared unit primarily because it is reasonable (about $ 230 to $ 240) and has nice 4 megapixel camera. It also takes the normal pictures during the day and IR flash photos at night. The Moultrie advertised some nice features that I wanted, like the long life of the battery, quick trigger time and laser target, making the adjustment camera in a snap.

I 6 I ran 40s on the country for 3 months last fall and got many pictures good dollars and this review can detail what I've learned.

Camera has many useful aspects. First, it has infrared camera flash and the need to produce flash, but flash is infrared, not visible white light. It has infrared sensor, which detects changes in the temperature started shooting. It is not supposed to trigger the branch or other grass movement. I have many pictures of grass, but it is possible that way I had cameras set up a temperature gradient was between shade and sun, which was cause strange shots. It was a little annoying but no big problem.

Moultrie markets 150 days battery life on these cameras and I can not dispute that figure. I had them for 90-days and all the cameras still show around 75% battery charge.

I-40 has 50-foot flash and rating again, I have say that their number is very conservative. I have some shots of deer, which are 50 meter distance. Camera not seem to generate these long range deer, but they certainly appeared shot in the camera is activated when the poet deer. I'm not sure my photos look what maximum sensor space for camera activation, but I do not see that than approximately 15 to 20 meters.

Camera takes SD cards and is certainly one route to go.

It has video mode I have not tested.
Software is upgradeable and it fact also proven very beneficial later.
Camera is weather resistant and air tight and I've had no problems.
Operates on 6 D-cell batteries

I can tell from the pictures I have that sound of the shutter opening and closing was enough to alarm the deer. I got many pictures of deer staring camera, so they have heard.

In some cases, they also looked tense, back to heal, while in others they seem curious. The general tense ones seemed to be older deer and even then it was just a few. Generally I will say that deer are not alarmed by excessive camera. Majority accustomed to noise from the shutter speed. Actually I generally have many pictures of each buck in a pile of grain camera though I had made for one minutes delay.
