hunting camera bag
My 18-55mm lens for my Nikon D40 X is catching and hard to run when it is 35 ...?
I got it from my camera bag and was ready to make picture an annual Easter Egg Hunt and it would not be easy turn past 35. It will run, but with power, either direction. It usually appears smooth and easily. I've never this problem and do not know how to solve it. Can anyone help? I've searched for help and have no luck. Thank you. If you have any more info let me know. Thanks AMphoto. I think I'm just gonna get it checked out and go ahead and upgrade. It is not so serious that no focus, just like the weather with ease. Doest sounds well. If it proves to have at least means something hasn't jammed. I can not say for sure without testing, but it sounds like there have been some good in the lens, say a piece of dirt or something and somehow prevent the zoom function. I dont think there is much you can do. You can see how much it would cost to get it cleaned, unless you feel tech-savvy enough to separate yourself although I wouldnt recommend. It is not an expensive lens, so you may just want to get a new or an upgrade. If Nikon are still relatively new you could call and see if maybe the warranty will cover it, because by all means it would be a defect in the lens itself.
