What if finding hunting land? My company had me in Iowa for about 2 years. In particular, the Cedar Rapids area. Had never lived (Iowa) in advance. I am also an avid hunter. Usually bow. But hunting had no contacts in that area. I along a small two page letter of introduction about myself. If you have a picture of my license. Vehicle info that I could ride. Home address, work address, home and cell phone. Had my manager writing a short letter saying that I am a reputable and reliable employee. No criminal record. Targeted and simple terms that I wanted hunt farmers door-knocked. I ended with a dozen different farms that I had permission to hunt on. Actually rejected because only one farm had been leased for hunting rights to others. Just a thought. Worked for me.
