What would you do if you discover your gas was transferred from your vehicle?

I live in a small village .... station, post office, a bar on a street. I saw my mileage was worse, took the air filter and tire pressure. Then I filled in the city one night and awoke the next morning to 3 / 4 of a tank. And filled more than 3 liter missing. So what would you do? 1. Call the police and hope they can find anybody. 2. Purchase a locking gas cap and hope they do not drill through the gas tank to get the gas. 3. Using an infrared camera and film every night. (That is what we are doing now .... think my husband just like playing with technology!) 4. Sleeping in my car with a baseball bat. 5. Let them have it .... if they are desperate that they need it more than me. 6. Other ideas?

We cameras, s to catch the gas thief, she is saving like crazy the last time, so far all we got was pictures, but they see the camera, so I doubt they will try again, I also have an alarm on my car and if the gas cap door opens the horn sounds, this is also scared them off, these days hard to come by gas thief to steal, there are several things you can do, I found the alarm and a locking mechanism cap is the best for stopping them good luck.
