infrared camera problems
InfraRed film will show what I insulate my house?
I was wondering if you could take InfraRed film and find the problem areas of isolation in a house. I have an older film camera that the manual says you can use IR film in. I am willing to try it, but thought I would ask first. The pictures would not be too terribly long as it clearly showed where the heat went. Thanks fhotoace Thanks Edwin. I would not be a problem with the changing bag. I am quite familiar with my camera. Thanks Ben
No. There are services that will do that. They use different techniques for finding heat leaks. There are some things you can do without a heat-survey, including checking seals on your windows and doors. Sealing your light switches and outlets (inside the J-Box which holes). IR film, but is sensitive to infrared light, is not sensitive to heat as a temperature meter or IR-based scientific light sensitive sensors that are used by researchers and military applications.
