infrared camera temperature
Infrared Movie: I know that the need refridgerated, but when I load and a 4-day span pictures, is that ok
I know you keep cool in a refrigerator until you use it - then you bring it to room temperature before loading, but when I load my camera (in total darkness) and go to to use it, I can in my camera in the room temperature for a few days and no harm done to it? Also - as everyone, the small window in the back of an ordinary SLR camera know (the ISO of the film, etc.) effect shows the infrared film? Do I have that tape or something just to be safe? Thank you.
IR film is just a regular movie-sensitive for a broader spectrum of light, so the same storage rules. If you omit the color IR heat will change color, but you can not predict what the impact would have - IR is a kind of psychadelic color in the first place. There are some special considerations when shooting IR - IR loading and unloading in the dark, or very low light. Always avoid bright sunlight. IR-light will go right on through some materials, including thin metal film cassette. - Yes, you have to cover the window at the back of the camera, with slightly thicker than plakband.-Look at the pressure plate of your camera (the flat metal plate that holds the film against the gate) - as a pattern etched into the sheet metal, such as dots or lines, you will wind pattern that your film. Your plate is flat and smooth, like a Canon AE-1.-IR color slides you can shoot without filtration, but you need one # 87 deep red or IR filter for B & W, otherwise it will simply see a normal-foto. Your focus will vary with IR - meaning, which looks concentrated by the viewfinder is not what the film sees. Use the red witness mark on your lens if you have an older camera. Experiment - IR is getting used, and it is very unpredictable, but it is a lot of fun.
