infrared camera testing
How to find specs on the LEDs from a grab bag?
I recently bought some LEDs from a surplus store. They were in a container labeled "IR LED's?" I know nothing about them as much as the current rating, voltage, etc., and I'm not really sure how to find them. I have tried connecting of a single LED itself to different power supplies with different voltages and current ratings, but I'm still one of the LEDs light up and see I have tested burn-out. I know that They infrared, so I have a digital camera in night mode to try to see the light. I have the specs so I can make a circuit with them for a project. If anyone knows how specs that you find would be greatly appreciated.
You will not specs for the LEDs. The best thing you can do with a "grab bag" IR LEDs she is just running at 15mA. Put that the current through them, and the communication of the voltage drop you get. Use of this information. Remember, LEDs are designed to the current-controlled, uncontrolled voltage.
