Infrared light can be seen with the naked eye?
I am planning on making a pair of Night Vision Goggles, but I need as much help as I can get. I saw some videos on YouTube and heard that infrared light can be seen by the camera, but of course they recorded it on a video camera. What exactly do I need? How much will this cost? And the infrared light will be seen by the naked eye? I heard they can only view the video or digital camera. Are there sites that show exactly what they look like? The lay-out. I want something to look close to the couple MW2 (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) night vision goggles. But smaller towards the front. Please help!
The human eye can not detect infrared, but most digital cameras can. For reasons I do not understand that appears as white, then red as you would expect. Yet it is important this in the near infrared, not thermal infrared note. So in other words, you will not be able to see people just by their body heat, you have an IR-light. So effective what it gives you an "invisible flashlight, you can shine it around and see things through the camera, but not attract attention as an ordinary flashlight would.
