CCTV Camera in China

CCTV cameras are among security products which are expected to maintain a steady growth trajectory until 2008.

China and Taiwan are increasing their presence as providers of CCTV cameras. The mainland produced at least U.S. $ 100 million worth of CCTV cameras in 2004. Taiwan share of the global market, meanwhile, was estimated to be at least 25 percent.

CCTV camera manufacturing in mainland China is centered in Guangdong province, about 80 percent of the makers hosts. In Taiwan, production is still largely maintained in Taipei.

Production capacity
Taiwan makers have more experience than their manufacturing counterparts in mainland China. Many of these Taiwanese companies have experienced four to 14 years' of production, and three to 13 years in the CCTV camera business. Thirty-five percent of mainland companies are relatively new in the line - which at most five years experience in the business.

Export
The CCTV camera export of respondents accounted for 74.3 percent of the total annual turnover in 2004 CCTV cameras.

In 2004, mainland China and Taiwan makers exported U.S. 216.2 million U.S. dollars and 76.5 million U.S. dollars to U.S. value of CCTV cameras, respectively.

Asia and North America are the main export destinations. They account for 42.9 percent and 70.8 percent the export of respondents in mainland China and Taiwan, respectively.
