Biometrics based on Hand Vein Recognition Image Acquisition-related query?
I want to do a project based on biometric data using the hand vein pattern recognition of an individual (which is unique even for identical twins) .. I should know in detail about the components needed for imaging of hand vein .. After reading some newspapers published on the internet I found that it can be done using Near Infrared Imaging .. that we have an array of IR LEDs of at least 25mW power, IR filter, Diffusing filter and a CCD camera to capture images that have reflected from the back of the hand after being .. illuminated by the IR LEDs It would be really grateful if someone provides me with the cost of an IR LED of 25mW and the IR filter and the distribution of filters ... preferably in Asia or India cost .. What is a CCD camera? What is the difference between a regular camera ... Do we really need a CCD camera for imaging in our application? How will the simplest of such cameras cost .. preferably in Asia or India ... Thanks in advance ...
