What game has the cheapest caliber rifle ammunition which can reasonably take a pig in 1 shot?
I want equipment for the apocalypse. Seriously.
Seeing the second part of the question, I will try to anwser my custom to adjust. 7.62x39 - You can robust military rifles to fire it, fairly cheap and FMJs buy in bulk (although FMJ is not a good choice on a pig). You can hollow points, soft points and many other options as well (price range from ~ $ 6 for economy FMJs to ~ $ 60 for a really high number quality stuff) (Although, if you're serious in stock for a TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know) Senario then prehaps a military arm would you look like the 'enemy' to LEO, if you live in an abandoned city). In my opinion the best choice. 30-30 (aka 30WCF) - Do not discount this round. It is a powerful little Booger not getting the respect it deserves in this time, and 300 Win Mags, 500 S & Was. Her gun Plenty enough for anything the size of the black bear down on possums, and is a common gun, reliable and accurate. Prices range from ammunition to about $ 14/box of 20 for Remington Core-Soft lockt points, to about $ 60 for some really good things, depending on the ammunition. This weapon would you much less as a threat to people, but theres no box may reload, and a fragile probe should compartavily .. 223 - A one million rifles shoot this (most known is the AR-15), and not the best choice against a big bad hog but for most of its abundance. Ammunition is cheap, available in bulk and fit one million differnt guns .. 357mag in a snap - Pretty good choice, because it may precipitate a pig quite well, and is available widley. Rates (in my area) to about $ 20/box 50 Okay for some things to some special rounds for $ 80 .. 44mag in a rifle - Very powerful when fired from a rifle. approximately $ 30-pack of 50 for the ammunition.
