Is there anyone who knows about John Robert Powers, talent agency, and their techniques to scout for young talent?
I took my daughter in Miami for a "known" audition for major TV / modeling on Disney and Nickelodeon. We attended a presentation where Tallent scouts, one of them in California made the incredible leap in the "celebrity life stile can access our families and our children ultimately selected for the casting. The children had a camera test, I was told in particular my daughter looked very interesting for printing and for the start couchig any training in singing (she never sang to them). What sounded fishy to me was very intense remarkes they made as making hte children earning 15 grands one weeks suddenly driving a Hummer and move to a mansion in Beverly Hills (which were the promises, and of course the children very interested made) A brochure was given to us to be informative, there was a list of the training and the prices of the cheapest was in 2000 for several weeks .... for more info john type robert powers Yahoo Search ... sounds like scam to me.
JRP is a SCAM. Genuine talent / model agencies NEVER a fee. (Actors know they pay for their own classes.) Modeling Agencies models learn how to walk. No fee, does the reason is: When models book jobs, take their agency mission the top! John Roberts Powers is reputable since the 1960s. It is a scam, that money is "naive, young girls and their parents, the girls have no possibilities EVER to work as a model or actor. JRP is a school to study acting. It is not a school you on an acting resume. Find a real drama in your city for your daughter. Call community colleges and professional theaters in your town and ask for recommendations about acting teachers and acting schools. Stay away from JRP. His models were on the covers of every fashion magazine. Mr. Powers is dead. I think that JRP is a franchise and not taken seriously by someone in the act or fashion industry. Anyone with money can open JRP franchise, with or without ethics! John Roberts Powers is not approved for the training of actors or models. You can not JRP on a resume to an actor. If you want your daughter to act the university interview questions and the theater dept. recommended actions schools / teachers.
