Do talk talk rubbish bins What happened to the old days, remember? We had small galvanized buckets with lids that are emptied on a weekly basis. The bin man to fetch our bin our back door. Then leave it to the bottom gate for us to get. What we do not throw away we have burned in the fire grate. But nonsense is obviously not the same today. The main plastic. Years ago, mainly glass, cardboard, wood, paper or tin. Shops used to take back empty bottles, and the shopkeeper would give 3d from any one that we returned empty. Nice little pocket money for our children. We could buy a chocolate bar these days for 6d, which is a sixpence. (A shilling is the 12d in old money and new was 5p in decimal currency). However, Today the manufacturer continues to make plastic packaging, so they and the supermarkets that they can make maximum profit, while the tenants and city battle it out between themselves what to them - do with all that crap that is mass produced. Thus, the Council on the one hand indicates the use of smaller vessels that can be collected two weeks, and the tenants on the other hand say the big boxes are not large enough to hold all their waste, unless emptied on a weekly basis, even if they recycle. I remember back in the old days our stuff consisted primarily out of the ashes of fire, as something that would burn, we burn to stay warm. And the ashes of the fire took less space and sometimes we put them down the garden path to make a run at. What our bin men, we were so happy to see them if they were to see us. They used to play football at break time out on the road or parking lot. They were a friendly lot and well respected by everyone. Ok maybe the above does not directly answer your question, but I agree nothing is sacred anymore. The next in line is talking about turn chips / type of bar code, or key in our hand so can keep an eye on us or future generations. Nothing wrong with barcodes on books, but maybe it was just a sign of what come.
