infrared camera convert
What pre-Nikon D90 is the most compatible with the D90? (lenses and accessories)?
I am particularly curious about the D40, D50 and D70, because I want to use them for infrared. Because I want the D90 I prefer them compatible with the money, so that way I should not have so much different lenses / accessories for each save. Oh and I intend HoyaRM72 to use infrared and NOT to put the camera until I can afford.
All the cameras you mention you use AF, AFD, AFS and AFI lenses. The D40 and only the AFS AFi Autofocus lenses, but all of the cameras will have interchagible lenses with the D90 and will mount, meter and taking photos. Want older lenses use can use the AI-series lenses, but they will not have an autofocus of the camera and the meter will not you mentioned. they will still mount and photos take nonAI lenses will not work unless you have the converted lens (Last one I was about 25 euros) Heres a good link on the Nikon lens compatibility on http://www.nikonians.org/nikon/slr-lens. html
