Anyway to check what your PS3 in HD resolution?

Hi Guys, Ive just got a LG 32lg6000 HD TV and i cannot quite disturbing difference really much to say when viewing Blu-ray on the PS3 between 576p and 1080p (scaling to 720p)! For me it looks almost the same and it really shouldn't, should it? Btw the "test" DVD's Casino Royale. Is there anyway to check the middle of DVD / game halfway through the current resolution, or is there a way to get the camera a screenshot of the PS3 (not a remote, only one built-in photo shot on the ps3) Many Thanks guys, Ben

Maybe your TV user interface allows you the current resolution of the video input? I do not have PS3 but I borrowed a buddy of mine last summer. I do not have an LCD TV (yet) but I had the PS3 connected to my 24 "1920x1200 screen. I noticed the difference immediately when the console switch between 1080p and 720p mode. (Games are typically run at 720p even on a 1080p TV) Also I notice a big difference between DVDs and BDs during watching movies on the computer (I have a BD-ROM player) If you sit too far away from the screen you will not be the advantage of higher resolution, simply because the human eye is not sharp enough. Use the viewing distance calculator to fint the optimal distance from your TV. http://myhometheater.homestead.com/viewingdistancecalculator.html
