Nikon D60 Remote – force / options?

I see that the ML-3 remote control of Nikon is the only option to remotely control my D60. My questions are: – Is this the only (good) option? (i dont want to use cheap imitation brand) – Can I remote control from behind the camera? I see only one infrared receiver on the front of the cam

The camera has only the IR sensor on the front of the camera. You can use it from behind the camera as you can bounce the IR beam of something for the camera. It surface you bounce off of the infrared beam is relatively close by, perhaps 5 to 10 meters. I use the remote control behind the camera as I product photography. The ML-3 is a perfectly good remote. For the price, why buy an imitation unit. Another option is to use Nikon Camera Control Pro program. It will be tied to your computer remotely. Kind of expensive for what it does.
